Hi! I’m Lisa Madeleine, your editor and community word nerd. I’m here to help you find the writer within by sharing the knowledge, perspectives, and people skills I’ve gleaned from 15+ years as an editor, a communications writer, an event planner, and overall lover of the written word. Talk to me in metaphors, and I’ll be your best friend!
I am based out of Dallas, Texas, USA. But I love to travel and “explore strange, new worlds” (Star Trek anyone?). And “the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved…” (On the Road, Kerouac). That is, when I’m not cozied away in my introvert’s cave, engrossed in a good book, playing with watercolors, or mindlessly scrolling social media.
I approach the world pragmatically but see what it can ideally be. And I guess I fantasize and dream quite a bit. But so? I may be a walking oxymoron, but don’t judge—I can empathize with just about anyone who isn’t hateful or mean.

My Education
I truly enjoy attending workshops, webinars, classes, and other events. Maybe because I know what it takes to pull them off but also because I love to keep learning. Education is a privilege, and I strive to apply fresh ideas and best practices to everything I do.
My formal education is below, but I will say I’ve learned as much from my life experiences, colleagues, and generally just screwing up in life as I did in school.
